My 2025 NJ Winery Highlights

December 16, 2025 by David K Mullen

Happy Holidays!

2025 was a great year for New Jersey wineries. Great wines, great musical events, and some wonderful food and celebrations. Today I want to share some of our favorite moments at our wineries for the past year. I could easily add several more or rearrange the order a bit, but I hope you get a feel for the fun my wife and I had over the past year, visiting our wineries and tasting the fruits of their labor. I will include a link that you can click on to read my post about each of these visits.

Unionville Vineyards Fall ’25

This was one of the best visits to one our favorite wineries in the Garden State. From the moment we arrived we were in good hands with the Tasting Room Manager, Terese. She guided us through our tasting of pretty much all of the dry wines (red and white), pointing out the wines that had recently received high scores from prominent wine critics. Their Chardonnays and Hunterdon Mistral Series are always among my faves. We got to taste several highly rated wines, meet their two winemakers, and we were even greeted by John Cifelli, General Manager, who opened a bottle of their 2024 and shared a taste with us. You can read more about this great visit at the link below:

Rootstock 2025 at Hawk Haven Vineyards

What a fun night at Hawk Haven. We try to get to at least one Rootstock event every summer. This one featured the music of Donavon Frankenreiter. Lovely place to pair super wine with great music. You can read about our visit here : https://wp.me/p74VSa-eKu

Bellview Winery’s 30th Anniversary

This was a wonderful visit, as we got to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this wonderful winery, drink a very good wine made for the occasion by winemaker, David Gardner (Argento). We did all of this while enjoying the terrific music of the Bo Rains Band. You can read more about this great visit by clicking on the link here: https://wp.me/p74VSa-eGV

Old York Cellars Spring ’25

A great afternoon lunch (tasty tapas) paired with some very good wines, while overlooking the beautiful vineyard from our comfy cabana. You can read about this visit by clicking here: https://wp.me/p74VSa-eBp

William Heritage Winery

What a great night-super flatbreads with a free bottle of BDX and getting together with a couple of good friends! You can read about our visit here: https://wp.me/p74VSa-eMh

Grill Night ’25 at Cape May Winery

A yearly tradition–a great dinner, paired with their wine, and excellent acoustic music. Hard to beat! You can read about our visit here:

Laurita Winery Fall ’25

Laurita Winery’s tasting room and grounds are so beautiful that you almost forget how good their wines (and food) are. You can read about our visit here: https://wp.me/p74VSa-eRh

Turdo Vineyard

Turdo Vineyard is always a yearly highlight for us. We love their wines and the wonderful family. We also know that they may not be there next year, as the winery is up for sale. While we missed seeing Sal, Sara, and Luca at this visit, we were happy to see our friend, Ed Anderson, pouring for our tasting.
