Magnify Brewing Company & My NJ Wine of the Week

April 15, 2026 by David K Mullen Leave a Comment

On Thursday, my wife and I decided to check out another fairly new brewery, Magnify Brewing Company in Medford. They are located right on Main Street, very close to King’s Road Brewing Company. They also have a brewery in Fairfield. Their Medford tasting room is huge and attractive, with a very high ceiling and many large windows. Their selection of beers is also quite large and diverse-from IPAs to Sours and from Stouts to Hard Seltzers. While they do not offer flights or samplers, they will give you a taste of one or two or you can order a small pour (nine ounce glass) or standard pour size. There is a food truck every Wednesday (Johnny’s Pies Pizza) and live music on most Fridays and Saturdays.

I was disappointed that they didn’t do samplers, but their small (9 oz. pours) gave us a good alternative to try a few and share them.

                                           Our Choices

  • Maine Event -Hazy New England IPA with tasty notes of tropical fruits.
  • Contractual Obligation-An Imperial IPA with Citra and Mosaic hops (8.5% ABT). This was a very smooth, compromise between the East Coast style and West Coast style-not as hazy as the East Coast version or as crystal clear as the West Coast version.
  • Peanut Butter Mind Over Matter -Delicious Stout that does taste a bit like a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. 8% ABT. As advertised and very smooth.
  • CocoOverload-An Imperial Stout collaboration with Bottle Logic, brewed with coconut cream, flaked coconut, and raw coconut. 11% ABT. You can feel the warmth from that 11% and you can smell and taste the coconut. Very tasty.
  • Bourbon Cream Soda-An interesting hard seltzer, aged in bourbon barrels. I usually pass on hard seltzers, but this one was worth a try.

Our Takeaways

I would have been happy to take home everything we tasted, but that would have exceeded the budget. So we settled on our two favorites: their two delicious Stouts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Magnify Brewing Company! I look forward to a return visit on a sunny day, sitting outside at one of their many picnic tables, enjoying the offerings of a food truck or a picnic lunch that we pack.

My New Jersey Wine of the Week

This week I chose to highlight a collaboration between Hawk Haven Vineyards and Ashenfelter Vineyards-The Hawk Haven 2022 OA Cabernet Franc. It is one of the best Cab Francs I have had in quite a while. It is medium-bodied, offering notes of raspberry, blackberry, and black cherry, and soft tannins with a sustained finish.
